The most common way to reach Squamish is by driving and enjoying the scenic drives and amazing views of the Sea to Sky Highway (Highway 99).

This scenic route is your only ticket to our little slice of paradise, and trust us, the views are worth it! You’ll see the Pacific Ocean, towering mountains, and green forests all around you. Depending on traffic, the drive usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half.

Just a heads up—check the road conditions before you hit the road, especially in winter, as you might need winter tires to tackle the highway.

Travel by bus (1.5 to 2.5 H)

If you prefer not to drive, the Squamish Connector or YVR SkyLynx offers daily shuttle services from key locations in Vancouver, like Pacific Central Station, downtown Vancouver and Vancouver Airport (YVR).

Tickets can be purchased online at their respective websites, and some of the buses even allow you to bring your larger gear (skis, snowboards, even bikes)!

From Vancouver Island

Via Ferry and Car Travel

Ready for an adventure? You can hop a ferry from Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal) or Nanaimo (Departure Bay) and go to Squamish within a day! There are ferries almost every hour, and you can reserve online in advance to ensure your spot on the top deck (trust us, you’ll appreciate it).

After disembarking, continue your adventure by car along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, which leads directly to Squamish. The drive from Horseshoe Bay to Squamish takes less than an hour, with plenty of viewpoints to enjoy along the way.

Crossing Vancouver might take you a little longer if you hit some traffic, so make sure to look at the current conditions before leaving the ferry terminal to pick the fastest route.

Via Ferry and Bus Travel

Did you know that you can leave your car on the island, and walk on the ferry for a hassle-free option and then connect to local bus services mentioned above.

After arriving at Horseshoe Bay, you can easily catch the Squamish Connector to reach your destination.

If you’re travelling from Victoria, you can catch the public transportation to make your way to downtown Vancouver or you can grab a BC Connector ticket. From downtown Vancouver, you can connect to the Squamish Connector and make your way up the Sea to Sky Highway towards Squamish.
